In the early moments of 2019 I was: homeless, single, and my business partner of almost a decade left the company days before our annual retreat.
Just having lost everything I owned and my home, jobs, clients ... in a wildfire I was feeling a little less than mentally well (that's putting it mildly).
When the world wanted me to be strong and lead on... but I knew I couldn't take another step forward without healing, Baxar Hotel gave me a bed and food in return for teaching two fitness classes a day to the staff that works at the hotel.
This experience changed my life and as I learned to really speak the language and learn about their lives - I noticed a gap between how I perceive people living in poverty and how much happier they are than most my American clients.
Thank you Baxar Hotel for teaching me how to be happy with what is. I'll be forever grateful for the experience this brought and how you helped me find my voice and stand on my own two feet. No partners required.
And to Charlotte Arnwine, who held me in the dark hours of the morning and reminded me who I am... this is just the beginning for us, I have a feeling.
